IN-PERSON WORSHIP has been suspended effective 12/26/2021. We look forward to seeing you online Sundays at 10:30 AM and Wednesdays at 7 PM (ET).

We are so glad you are checking us out on the web and are considering a visit with us! Greater Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church has some of the most loving people you will meet. This love comes from a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ that extends to all people. If you are planning on visiting with us, here is some information we believe will be helpful in answering some questions you may have before you arrive. In light of the board-approved protocols, some of the below may have been adjusted.

What happens when I get to church?

A member of the Courtesy Guild will greet you with a warm welcome when you enter through the main entrance and ensure you know your way around. You’ll find a member of the Usher Board posted at each entrance/exit of the Sanctuary. He/she will give you a bulletin with the order of worship and announcements so you can easily follow along during Worship service. An Usher will also help you with any special needs you may have and even help you find a comfortable place to sit.

When are service times?

What is there for children?

Sunday School classes are available for all ages.

Children’s Church is provided as an option for kids ages 4-12 on 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, unless there is a special celebration in the Sanctuary. Your child/ren can be dropped off at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

The 4th Sunday of every month is Youth Sunday. Our children participate in every part of the Worship service, including singing in the youth choir, praise dancing with the Liturgical dance team, praying at the altar, and serving as ushers at the Sanctuary doors.

What is a typical Sunday Service like?

Our church will worship through music, art, prayer, giving, and the preaching of God’s word. The music contains great hymns of history while blending in some of the newer praise music of today. Messages are clear, applicable to life, and come straight from the Bible.

What do I wear?

Clothes.

Seriously.  There is no “dress code” for church.  You will discover that our church family dresses in a range from comfort, to casual, to formal.  God is interested in your heart more than He is what you are wearing.

Where will I park?

Parking is very convenient. There are parking spaces near each entrance along with plenty of handicapped spaces.

Will you ask me to stand up in front of the church?

Yes, we will ask visitors to stand and be recognized.  Don’t worry. We don’t ask you to say anything. We do have a few minutes in the worship service where we say hello to each other. Our desire is for you to feel welcome and not singled out.  The other thing we request is that you fill out a visitor’s card and place it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit.

No matter where you are, who you are, and what you’ve done, you are never beyond the reach of God’s grace! We sincerely hope you won’t visit just once, but continue to return! You might come knowing no one, but rest assured you won’t leave that way. Complete our Digital Connect Card.
